Usage in North America

In North America (ITU region 2) the 420-450 MHz spectrum is allocated for amateur radio and 450-452 MHz is allocated for commercial use. I suggest that you update the site to note that in North America, users will need to be licensed amateur radio operators in order to legally use RATS at any power level.

If used by an amateur radio operator, there are notable rules: a) the use of encryption on these frequencies is prohibited, and b) the user must periodically identify using their call sign. The software in its current state encrypts messages, and does not appear to identify the user in clear text. That means in its current state, the software is not suitable for legal usage in North America.
